The Old Street Quarter vision

Delivering much-needed new homes, with dedicated affordable social housing for local people.
Retaining and restoring key historic buildings.
Creating new public squares and walking routes, providing open and welcoming spaces for all.
Flexible community space, shops and cafés.
A sustainable, car-free neighbourhood with energy-efficient homes and no on-site fossil fuel use.

Old Street Quarter is being brought forward by Derwent London and Related Argent, two of London’s most celebrated regeneration specialists, working alongside award-winning architects at Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) and a wider consultant team.

You may have seen or commented on earlier proposals for a commerical-led development on the site. We are working closely with Islington Council on this new project that reflects the council’s priority to deliver new homes and building on the feedback received through previous consultation.

Later this year, we will return to share more detailed propoals and invite further feedback before a planning application is submitted to Islington Council.

Have your say
